🤔 3. Make your cat move
🐱 Move the Scratch Jr Cat:
- ➡️ Use “Move Right” blocks to move the cat across the screen.
- 📏 Understand grid-based motion in Scratch Jr.
- 🔢 Experiment with the number of steps to control the cat’s movement.
- 🏁 Use the “Start on Green Flag” block to reset the cat’s position for repeated runs.
How to Make It:
- 🔄 Simplify the process with multiple Move Right blocks.
- 🐱 Each block moves the cat one step right.
- 🧩 Consider the effort of connecting numerous motion blocks.
- 🔄 Better Navigation: Explore a better way to handle tasks.
- 💡 Discovery: Notice the numbers at the bottom of each motion block.
- 🎚️ Experimentation: Change the numbers to observe effects.
- 🖱️ Tap the number on the motion block.
- 🎛️ Keypad appears on the right.
- 🆕 Enter a new number.
- 📌 Tap the block to confirm.
- 🚶♂️ Observe how far the cat moves.
- 🧐 Explore the meaning of the number.
Tap the Grid button to show the grid.
● Stage grid appears to track character positions.
Cat’s Movement:
- 🐱 Tap your script to see the cat’s movement on the stage.
- 🔵 The blue square and numbered circles indicate the cat’s new position.
Explore Stage:
- 🔄 Use the first four motion blocks to guide the cat to every corner of the stage.
Reset Cat’s Position:
- 🏁 Start your script with a Start on Green Flag block.
- 🟢 Tap the Green Flag button to run the script and reset the cat to its starting position.
- 🔁 Keep cat’s starting position consistent for easier testing.
- 🖱️ Change cat’s starting position by dragging it on the stage.
- 💾 Save project by tapping Home button (🏠) when done.
- 📱 Access saved projects and create new ones from home screen.
