Formative Evaluation

Formative Evaluation (आकारीत मूल्यमापन) :

In this evaluation, the children’s learning process is continuously checked and monitored throughout the year. As learning is abstract process, it goes on in the minds of children. (1) Daily Observations : This is the finest of all evaluation techniques. Teacher will observe the child with specific purpose in mind and note the verbal description. Objectives of daily observations are: (1) to review the learning process or habits of children. (2) to identify physical / psychological / intellectual hurdles that may come in the way of learning. (3) to find out the ideas, techniques or tricks which children use on their own while learning. (4) to record progress made by child with respect to values, core elements and life-skills. (2) Oral Work : (questions and answers, reading loudly, speech and conversation, role-play, interview, group discussion, etc…) Oral work is done to access the skills like – oral expression, ability to describe something, conversation / communication skills, ability to ask right question to obtain desired information and reading ability. (3) Practical / Experiments : In this, children has to perform experiment / activity by themselves. This will make lively participation of children in the process of learning. (4) Programmes / activities : Teacher records subject-wise observations during programme / activity on the basis of participation of the student, wholehearted efforts, continuity in participation, neatness and ease with which the activity is carried out. (5) Projects : It is expected that, each child should complete at least one project of any one subject during academic year. Project helps students to correlate outside world with what has been learnt in the school. It also develop habit of self-learning. [Keywords:] [Read instructions for Projects]

(7) Exercise / Class-work : (Observing pictures, maps, writing information, collection of information) Student will be given pre-planned exercise and class-work for reinforcement of the lesson learnt and to acquire the habit of self-learning. (8) Other : Questionnaire, Self Evaluation, peer-evaluation, group work and other similar tools.
